Studio Organization {Week 2}

Whoah! Was week as hard for you as it was for me?

I didn't think I was going to make it.

For real.

But, my husband is amazing and watched our little man for me so that I could focus my time on these tasks and he didn't give me too much grief when I pulled a couple of really late nights.

But, I feel accomplished and am ready to work on this week's tasks.

As you can tell when comparing the before and after photos from last week's tasks, I have a lot of bins and boxes that need to be gone through, cleaned out, and all of the items put into their new homes.

A lot of boxes and bins.

Take a look!

However, I realize that focusing all of my time on these bins wouldn't keep me on [my self imposed] schedule, and would be more frustrating than fruitful. So, with that in mind, my goal is to resolve at least two bins/boxes a week, in addition to my other organization tasks.

Here's what's on tap for {Week 2}!

  • Resolve at least two bins (or one of those huge, honkin' bins).
  • Organize all of the patterned paper and cardstock. (I sort most of my patterned papers by type, or manufacturer and the cardstock by color and size.)
  • Organize all of my wallpaper. (My plan is to trim the pieces into manageable sizes - like 12x24 or so - and then getting the into my patterned paper organization system. The exception will likely be the wallpaper rolls that are full rather than a foot or two in length.)
  • Organize my ephemera. (I came up with a system last week which I think will work out well, let's see how I go as I get everything loaded into it.)
  • Organize my "scraps" (I have a system that works for me, but needs to have a bit of revamping)
There's a lot to accomplish this week with the tasks I've planned. But, I think they'll be fairly easy to manage and will bring a lot of tidiness and happiness to my space!

    Can you explain your systems for the above? I need to get better at this!!! I dont really have anything on the floor other than furniture, so that was not my problem... My cardstock is organized by color and size and my patterned paper is organized by manufacturer and also by theme... but now it's the other stuff I am going to work on...
